Damnit Jim by HapticMimesis Damnit Jim by HapticMimesis
How many times do I have to remind you of my profession! Too bad there's no known cure for that thick skull of yours.

("Are you a doctor" quote from Kirk in "Amok Time")

I don't own Star Trek or the good doctor. Though, that would be lovely.

Excellent work. I love how the text kind of leaves the viewer open for whether it's humor or self-reflexion.

Also, AS ALWAYS ALL YOUR ART IS BEAUTIFUL AND I AM DYING OF JEALOUSY.

Ooooh, actually. I hadn't thought about the self-reflection bit. That's really good. Because, you know, it plays into his whole personal turmoil about his dad, and whether or not he can even call himself a doctor anymore after what he did. Frankly, I'm convinced he spent the rest of his life trying to atone for it. Maybe that's why Spock said he had a "martyr complex". Poor Bones.

I'm loving that textured effect you've got going on.

Ah, and to own the good doctor would be delightful indeed.

Thank you! :) I'm afraid I use it as a bit of a crutch. I didn't realize it until I looked through my gallery. I think I use a texture on almost every piece. :T Ah, well. I'll revise my ways... later.

Sure thing. Heh, yes you do tend to use textures, and you may find them to be a crutch, but I think they add some 3D quality that is uniquely your own. ^_^

:) I'm glad that they're not obtrusive, anyway. lol. Eventually, I'll branch out, when I get bored of the look of them. How's your summer been so far?

Indeed.

Ah I've been working at a summer camp over at the Pullen Arts Center, so I've been close to campus. The hours are long, and the kids can be a hassle on occasion but they can also be funny and cute. Plus I get to teach them about art so I can't go wrong there. How about you, how's summer been treating you ?
